Mika, our four-legged best friend, loves to run in the woods. But unfortunately, there are so many ticks around. We tried different tick repellents, and the EM® Ceramic is our favoured anti-tick option.
We wanted a dog collar that is not only effective but as well looks cool. Therefore, we decided to create our own and are happy to share it with you. The cool surfer's necklace is our inspiration for this wow by Le BijouBijou anti-tick collar.
What is EM® Ceramic, and how does it work:
EM® stands for Effective Microorganisms® and has been developed by a Japanese scientist, Dr Teruo Higa. The main product, EM·1®, is a liquid bacterial product made up of three microorganisms: yeast, photosynthetic, and lactic acid. This substance is baked to create the ceramic tubes/beads used in the collars. These beads have anti-tick properties and give off their particular electromagnetic wave at a frequency unique to them. Luckily, this frequency is known to be unpleasant for ticks and other similar insects.

You will get the best results when your dog wears the collar all the time during the tick season. It is essential to keep the beads clean. Otherwise, the pores of the EM® Ceramic are blocked and will alter the wavelength emissions of the beads. Every 14 days, clean the collar with warm water (do not use soap or any chemicals) and let it dry one afternoon in the sun.
The EM® Ceramic Beads are effective for about one year. Possibly after that period, their performance could drop. Furthermore, the wow by Le BijouBijou anti-tick collar is a tick repellent and does not replace your dog's collar.
Please note that EM® Ceramic should have any side effects commonly associated with chemical tick treatments. There is no 100% guarantee that EM® Ceramic will keep ticks off you or your pets. However, it is important to note that there is no 100% guarantee for any other chemical treatment either!
